Homework Due September 16th.

1.  Remember the experiment we did in class with milk, color and dish liquid.  I asked you to think about: 


Why did the dish soap make the colors race to the side of the bowl?  
Remember, when you put a second drop of soap nothing new happened? Why? 

Below is a picture that is a hint to the answer as to why the dish liquid caused the colors to move.   This is a picture of an Olympic Swimmer.  He is rising up in the pool but has not broken through the surface of the water.  What do you notice? Look close to the swimmers face and mask - see the "skin" of water all around him?  Why is the water doing that?

Homework Due September 23rd.
Bring a laundered (no fabric softener) 100% cotton T shirt that fits over your clothes to TIE DYE!!!  Wear clothes that you can Tie Dye in - they may get dye on them so don't wear anything nice and new!
