1. So, the word is out:  you will be writing a novel in November!

No, really, no need to Panic or Freak Out!  You will do great - I know it!
Did you know:
  •  that you will be joining over 400,000 people worldwide who will be writing a novel in November?
  • that in the last 2 years over 30 students from Friday School ages 8-16 have completed NaNoWriMo?
  • that my goal in running NaNoWriMo and my goal for this class is to help you become a successful writer.
So, I will make sure you have everything you need to succeed! What do you have to do?
  • Complete your homework every week between now and November.  This will make November a breeze.
  • Begin to make a plan to write EVERY DAY in November.  It will not be hours a day – more like 5-15 minutes a day.
Here is what is DUE OCTOBER 17th
Last week you began creating your characters.  This week use your NaNoWriMo Brainstorm Workbook to read and complete the pages assigned.  Have fun, use your imagination and no Inner Editor! (Brave spelling, brave writing, let's go!)
Here is the NaNoWriMo Brainstorm Workbook. You can click on the image below and read it online.  You can print any pages you need.  In class I gave you through page 41.

1.Fill out the pages for your Supporting Characters (page 20-31).
2.  Fill out the Villain pages (32-41).  Be creative, write fast and brainstorm lots of ideas!  Can't wait to hear about your characters!
3.  Print pages 42-61, put them in the NaNoWriMo section of your notebook.  Read them through - but you do not need to complete any of these pages - we will work on them together in class next week.  Dream about your novel!
