Homework Due September 21st

1.  Make sure that you have all of the required resources:
  • 1.5" to 2” binder with at least:
  • 10-15 section dividers that you can label
  • Ruled notebook paper in the back of your notebook
  • 2 sharpened pencils with good erasers
  • Red Pen
  • Black Pen
  • Highlighter

2.  Please Label the first few tabs of your binder:
  • Tab#1 "Homework"
  • Tab#2 "Geography: World and Medieval"
  • Tab#3 - Vikings Tab
  • #4 - Crispin

3.  In class, we began to learn about the Vikings. You chose several topics to learn about and present to the class. You took chapters from a book on Vikings that included pictures and descriptions.
Prepare for telling the class about your topics by using the following steps:

b.  Read through your first topic or first set of pages twice. (You have 2 "sets" of pages. For example, Vikings Warriors and Warships is a single topic made of 2 sets of information pages. You will fill out one worksheet for those two pages and another worksheet for your other topic. Another example: Animals and Farming both go on your first worksheet page and for Other Ships and Getting Around fill in the second worksheet page.).

c.  Fill in the worksheet for your first set of topics.

d.  Read through your second set of pages for your second topic. Fill out worksheet #2.

e.  Follow all the instructions on the worksheet, including printing an additional picture from the internet for each topic - one per worksheet - to bring to class and show. Make sure you plan which pictures from the handouts you will show as well!

f.  In class, you will use your filled-in worksheets to present your topics!

4.  Please purchase a copy of the book Crispin: the Cross of Lead by Avi.
(Available on Amazon for less than $7 new) and $4.99 used. When purchasing used books on Amazon I try to stay away from “acceptable” condition books and usually choose Good or Very Good, or Like New).

We will begin reading (a combination of at home and in-class reading) this Friday - the deadline for having the book in class is October 5th. ( I have an extra copy of the book that is in clean and great shape - except where my bunny chewed the bottom corner of the front cover ;)- for $4. Text me at 210-865-3309 if you would like it! First claimed gets it!

5.  It is important that you have a good grasp of World Geography for this course. We already had a quiz on continents and some of you did really well - if you did not - STUDY!! We will have another continents quiz! Please click on the links below to practice these 2 geography areas until you feel confident:
