Homework Due September 28th


1.  Make sure that you have all of the required resources - notebook, etc.  Look at last weeks homework to make sure you have everything you need for class!

2.  We created a favorite books timeline this week in class.  They turned out great!  Avery, be sure to bring pictures of your books to finalize your timeline.  

3.  Please purchase a copy of the book WONDERSTRUCK by Brian Selznick.  

(Available on Amazon for $22 new - this is a large book so it is only available in hardback) and $8.50 used. All of our books this year will be much cheaper than this one but this is a very large book that is 1/2 graphic novel and 1/2 novel. If purchasing a used book on Amazon try to stay away from “acceptable” condition books and with this book I would only choose a Very Good, or Like New book. Be extra cautious with this particular title, because of the large size the spine can be broken.  Half Price Books usually has it in stock as well!

We will begin reading the book in class is October 5th.

NOTE: there is a movie out based on this book.  PLEASE DO NOT WATCH IT (I asked and all said they had not seen it.) There are many surprises in this book and the fun of discovery is so great - don't want it to be spoiled!
