Homework Due October 27th.

1. Read through chapter 15 of The Golden Goblet. Complete these summaries and make sure to find facts about Egypt to fill in from each chapter. Answer the few questions about the author.
DO NOT READ CHAPTER 16 - the last chapter - we will read it in class!

2. There will be a quiz on the reading! It will be an easy quiz if you have read the chapters - so no stress.

3. In 3 weeks we will Re-create an Egyptian Burial! You chose an Egyptian Burial Object to create and you received a packet with a schedule for creating your project over the next 3 weeks. This is the project packet I handed out in class and here is the Research Form you should fill out as you research your topic.

Complete all 4 items due by October 27th from your project packet! The Research Form should be filled out (at least in rough draft form) for this coming week as well!.

You only need to read/watch the information on your topic below. You should also find one additional SCHOLARLY source, remember that can be BBC, PBS, a university website or a museum (Wikipedia, though helpful as a summary of your topic, is not a scholarly source. You may be able to use Wikipedia by scrolling to the bottom of the page on your topic and seeing their list of resources - sometimes they list scholarly resources you can use!) Use this information to fill out the Research From above.

- Funeral Cart & Opening of the Mouth Ceremony- Some tomb paintings show this cart as a simple sled that the boat is loaded on others show the cart as it's own transportation on which the Sarcophagus is loaded. Some have wheels. You can make any of these! This cart led the mourners and the dead to the "Opening of the Mouth Ceremony" This ceremony should be described as a part of the presentation of your object.
