Homework Due March 6th or by email before March 6th if desired

Due March 6th

You have TWO assignments this week!
1.  PURCHASE THE BOOK  - A Long Walk to Water: Based on a True Story Linda Sue Park- we have begun reading it in class and you will want the book to read along.

2. Take STEP ONE in preparing for a class presentation that you will do in 6 + weeks from now.   Each of you will be doing a presentation on a country sometime in the next 6-10 weeks.Don't worry - I will give you lots of detailed instructions on how and what to prepare for your presentation.  This week you need to do just the first step!  Choose the country you will study and the book you will read.

In preparation for the presentation, you will read a novel set in that country to immerse you in the country, its culture and its people. Look at the list of books and countries at the bottom of the homework.  Research these books by looking on Amazon or other sites to read summaries of the book.  Parents: most of the books listed will require either you or an older sibling to read to your student.  Feel free to choose your own book at the library if you prefer (just make sure to send me the title and author to approve).  Siblings may choose the same book and country - I will assign you different "aspects" of the country to present. Also - if you have a sibling in my older class you may want to choose the book together since your family can read one book and each student can prepare presentations. Email your choices to pamela.classes@gmail.com

PLEASE CALL ME - with any concerns or questions!  This presentation will be a great step for your student and I will give them all the support they need to be successful.  210-865-3309.
