1. Watch this sort of silly (but some good info!) video on SETTING
2. Print this SETTING worksheet and complete it, filling in the spaces to identify the time and place of each mini-setting.
3. Now, I want you to think about the connection between setting and MOOD. Click on the words: Print This Page. A document will pop up, click on the tiny printer in the top right corner to print the page. This instruction sheet contains two paragraphs. Each paragraph has the same SETTING but two entirely different moods. Answer the questions about the paragraphs and use a highlighter to highlight the WORD CHOICES that gives each paragraph its particular MOOD.
NOW, follow the instructions and create two paragraphs, each beginning with the same opening lines, but with entirely different moods. Will your mood be:

casual
celebratory
cheerful
comforting
comic
or will it be:
creepy
confusing
scary
horrifying
suffocating
